One van, one set of standards
TCL Auto Detail is a mobile detailing operation working out of Birmingham and the towns inside 35 miles of it. No shop, no drop-off, no waiting room.
The work started the way most detailing does: one car, one weekend, and a finish that looked better than the shop down the road had managed. It turned into a route.
What has not changed is the pace. Only one vehicle is booked at a time, which is why a full detail takes most of a day and why nothing gets rushed to make the next appointment.
If something is not going to come out, you hear that before the work starts rather than after. A deep scratch, a burn in a seat, a headliner that has already been glued once: those get called out honestly, and priced honestly, or left alone.
Water
A tank and a filter on board, so what touches your paint is not whatever is in the hose.
Power
An inverter and a generator. Nothing is run off your house and nothing trips your breaker.
Chemistry
pH-neutral soaps, dedicated wheel and iron products, and no all-purpose cleaner anywhere near a dashboard.
Polishing
Dual-action machines and a paint depth gauge, because you cannot safely cut clearcoat you have not measured.
